New workshop

Rod demolished the old roof off the covered lane and last week, the builders reframed it and reroofed it in zincalume and suntuff.
It is so much better as it is strong and light inH3 treated pine. They tell me it is both water and white ant proof. The old roof was so bad it wasn't safe to walk on. We can now get the old iron window serviced and reframed. The side window frame was comletely  eaten out by white ants so we have removed it. Builders will be reframing it shortly. They sealed up under the eaves where the pigeons were getting in and did some minor brick repairs. The old iron chimney from the boiler is coming down too.
Very soon all the repairs on this side will be done and we can get on to having it painted.
It is going to be great to have a proper workshop. Will be moving my materials in this weekend. Just got to have the cleaners sink set up and I am all set.

Back from Italy

Had a great time in Italy, came home a couple of weeks ago and started cleaning the shop.
I never want to come home, we love Italy, certainly not to the bucketing we received this weekend !
I had to air the carpet in a couple of spots because of leaks. Upside of course is my garden is very very happy for the soaking.

On the weekend we got my new things out of the van and I set up a temporary work space under cover.
I bought some old army ammo boxes that need a good scrub, a couple of split cane chairs and old mahogany leather high back buttoned lounge, a timber childs toy, a great galvanized trunk a painting by Henri R Nolte, a fabulous fishing basket, some old pots and a pelican pick and a picnic basket. Hoping the wind will drop tomorrow so I can get some work done.
Tried to load some photos but they keep failing. Will try again. In the meantime I will post this with pics to follow.
