Stocking up and building works

I have had an interesting week. Paul finished the doors finally. He took the errant door off and rebated the hinges in a little deeper and higher. Now the two doors meet top and bottom and it no longer scrapes at the bottom or sticks when you close it. It took two hours of fiddling so I'm sure it stretched his patience with the door and me ! He also put the weather strips on so I have no more excuses, I better get them painted !

I have been busying buying new stock though. I picked up some pressed glass and a lace edged fruit pattered fruit set today.
I also have bought some things from a friend who is moving. A pair of victorian terracotta chimney pots, a pair of fabulous arch top windows, a crazy chicken wind vane, a sundial, a pair of old stable doors,  some candlesticks an old mixing bowl and a victorian breadboard (which is going straight to the pool room !)
a couple of retro cottage chairs A large victorian frame with original glass a hurricane lamp and a bendigo keg an old pine linen press and a couple of old steam engines which I gave to a friend for helping me. Tomorrow I have to pick up a cast iron fire insert and a large wooden desk file.
I had to scramble under the house to get some of the stuff but it was worth it. Everything needs a really good clean but I will get on to it. I already scrubbed up the old breadboard and I put the mixing bowl in the dishwasher after a good soak.

There are three really large bird cage constructions which he has tried desperately to sell to me.
I wouldn't mind them or even one but where would I put them !
They are banks of bird cages in a frame. Good for a bird breeder. I am undecided whether they are visually interesting enough to take a punt on.
Rod and I moved the shop around last weekend, and gave it a good clean. This weekend we will sort the other room out and make space for the new things. There is only about half an hours work to finish the books. I have the brasso on the desk so next week I will don the latex gloves and start shining up all the brass.
Will get some more pics up as I get things sorted.
Have a good Weekend!
