An Unstill Life.









Jim's May exhibition at the Maitland regional Art Gallery was a great success, and was attended by a great number of visitors. In fact it was one of the most sucessful exhibitions held by the Gallery.
Jim managed to borrow more than thirty of his still life paintings back from friends and family and it was especially thrilling for him to see so many of his works assembled in one
place. He told me the most he had ever seen together before this exhibition, was four.
The gallery director was only interested in the still life works.
It was exciting to see so many still lifes, but a little sad that his popular landscape work, was not represented.
The gallery organized "a yarn with Jim Casey" and Jim enjoyed talking about his life, and arranged for some old friends to join him.
In all it was a lovely cellabration of his life and art,
the openning was attended by over 300 guests, I was so glad I slipped in on my own the day before !
