Post Christmas
POST CHRISTMAS ....
The family went home today, time to Christmas declutter !
I love Christmas, love putting up the decorations and trimming the tree. this year was interesting with all the family here. We cleaned out in the old bakery and made up beds. 10 and 12 people to feed daily was a challenge. I wondered how many times I would do Christmas as I set the table, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, Saturday...... one of my guests, a Muslim stared at me incredulously as I pulled out the Christmas napkins for fourth or was it the fifth time !
The Christmas ham stayed in the downstairs fridge and was surreptitiously devoured by the pork eaters......
Enough of Christmas. I am back to work today and working on my internet business. I use Antiques plus, facebook, this blog and my son just set me up on shopify. I have acquired flawedandfabulous.com.au but my website isn't off the ground yet. I was too slow and someone else is sitting on flawedandfabulous.com in America.
Elle my youngest daughter has a degree in fine arts, she is nearly finished her Masters at Melbourne Uni. She is a very hardworking young woman who is determined to find her place in the art world.
She has started her own business managing a few artists studios and loves nothing better than to hit the galleries.
She majored in photography, and I was delighted when she offered to photograph the stock for the new website. They set up a photo booth and draped the back with black cloth and I must admit it is very impressive. The beauty of each object just pops and reminds me why I bought each object, whether for form or finish I just love it.
They put the pics in a dropbox so that will be a new experience ..... when I work that out I will load some up.
Happy New Year everyone. Hope it is a year of healing and growth. Time for things to turn around, time for a purchasing driver other than price. What happened to beauty, uniqueness, form and fabric and finish as value drivers ? Cheap shouldn't be the only reason to buy. It has never been mine.
